New for 2008!!!

We are very excited to be offering a series of riding clinics focusing on creating a calmer, more responsive horse for any discipline. Carissa Rivera (more info at www.yellowhorsellc.com), a certified John and Josh Lyons trainer, will be conducting these clinics running one Saturday a month from May 24th through November 1st (10am - 4pm).  Each session will build upon the first.   There will be an hour lunch break (lunch cart available) and scheduled breaks throughout.  Spots will fill up quickly, please reserve your space now!!

Cost to participate is $50/session, or $250 to attend all 6!

Auditors welcome for only $15.00/session or $75.00 for all 6!

Part I – “Lightness” – May 24th (10am – 4pm) We will help riders refine their cues to help create a more willing partner in their horses. Using a variety of fun exercises, we will teach horses to react consistently, smoothly and obediently to
lighter cues.

Part II –  “Better Steering Better Brakes” – June 21st  (10am – 4 pm) We will teach our horses to become more responsive to bit, seat, and leg aids in order to get better turns and stops. This is a great clinic for trail riders as well as people
who want to fine-tune their show horse.

Part III –  “Riding Position” – July 26th (10am – 4pm) Learn how to use your position properly to create a more comfortable ride for you and your horse.

Part IV – “Shoulder Control”  - August 23rd (10am – 4pm) We will teach your horse to pick up and move its shoulders on cue. Then, using this cue, we will begin working on a higher level of balance and introduce lateral work.

Part V – “The Hindquarters” – *****CORRECTED DATE****

October 25th (10am – 4pm) Teach your horse to balance and drive with his hind end. This will lead to correct leads and better lateral work. We will be cantering during this session.

Part VI – “Relaxation and Despooking” *****CORRECTED DATE****

November 1st (10am – 4pm) Desensitize, despook, and teach your horse to approach obstacles more confidently. Build your confidence, too!

2004 Events

Therefore, we are turning the November 6th event into a boarder appreciation event .  This is to show appreciation to our boarders who have patiently hung with us through the construction phases of our remodeling.  At this time, we would consider taking a few visitors who are currently not boarders to audit.  If you have an interest in auditing, please contact us asap to reserve a seat!

Novemer 6th Schedule of Events

Noon - 1:00pm Lunch provided

1:00 - 3:00 pm "Training You To Train Your Horse"

This seminar was developed to help people learn to train horses by using what they know and getting them to listen to what the horse is telling them.  It will show people that they can train if they really want to. It will show that we need to listen to what the horse is telling us to make training easier and more sensible.

Our guest speaker has been invited to speak 3 days at the upcoming 2005 Midwest Horse Fair!
